What can You expect from this product?
Using OXO Good Grips Cookie Press you will get consistent cookies every time, some people might even think you just bought them!
You can use the cookie press on different non-greased surfaces and it will stand steady because of the non-slip base.
If you are making cookies for big celebrations or have big families that love cookies (mine does!) you will be pleased with the large non-slip lever (it’s OXO Good Grips, remember!) which is really comfortable for repetitive use.
Cookie press cylinder is clear and allows to see how much dough is left inside.
The cookie press also includes 12 stainless steel cookie disks for different cookie shapes and the original disks come with a case to store them. The patterns include: Daisy, Snowflake, Sunflower, Fleur-de-lis, Bear, Butterfly, Flower and others. You can also buy additional disk sets like Autumn Disk Set, Christmas Disk Set and Springtime Disk Set.
All the parts and disks are easy to disassemble for cleaning and loads back up just as easily.
OXO Good Grips Cookie Press is very light, just over one pound. Its dimensions are 7.5 x 2.8 x 12.4 inches. The cylinder is plastic, but from the looks it seems to be really sturdy.
The manufacturer does not mention it but we and other people that use it washed it in the dishwasher and it held up fine. We know that some cookie presses have the problem when the cylinder cracks after multiple uses, OXO Good Grips cookie press seems to be high quality and hold ups.
We tried the cookie press and made butter spritz cookies with the recipe included with the cookie press. We set up to do 50 cookies to see how many of them will come out good and how similar can they be.
The first couple cookies didn’t come out good because of using the cookie press for the first time and not knowing how many times to press the ratchet. You just need one!
Then two more didn’t stick because the cookie tray we used was greased, which didn’t allow cookies to stick to it and they just stayed stuck on the press. We switched to a non-greased tray and that eliminated the problem.
From then on, we had no problems and to our surprise we did not mess up any more cookies and they ALL came out the same! So in total we made 46 identical cookies out of 50. That’s a win!
If you are still thinking whether you would use the OXO Good Grips Cookie Press just remind yourself of the last time you needed to make dozens and dozens of cookies, was it a pain to go through? Or you liked doing everything by hand? If it was a tedious task then we recommend this cookie press 100%. It is easy to use, good quality material that holds up repetitive uses, many cookie designs to choose from, and the price is reasonable as well. We give it a 9/10.
